Hidden Gems: 13 U.S. Towns that are Diamonds in the Rough

Seaside, Oregon was identified as one of TripAdvisor’s top US “Hidden Gems” for vacation rental scores.

“Rich history and culture, gorgeous scenery, an abundance of activities, family-friendly attractions and top-notch vacation home accommodations make these US towns true diamonds in the rough.”

To be considered for the list, destinations must have received at least 500 reviews. TripAdvisor looked at all 2014 vacation rental review scores across the US, and scores are compiled with a possible high score of 5.

Some of the other destinations to make the list: Taos, New Mexico (4.77 score), Oceanside, California (4.66 score), Cape May, New Jersey (4.51 score), Park City, Utah (4.45 score), Gulf Shores, Alabama (score 4.29).
