Seaside Summer Event Guide

April 27, 2018 | by Shellie Bailey-Shah

We know that Seaside’s stellar location is reason enough to visit. But summers here are jam-packed with events that you won’t want to miss. So here’s a list of the biggies for 2018 to plan a trip around.

Seaside Muscle & Chrome Show June 15-16
Seaside Wheels & Waves September 6-9
If the sight of chrome gets your motor revving, you have two excuses to visit Seaside this summer. In June, the first car show celebrates muscle cars from 1960 to 1978. It also features more current, factory-performance models from 1979 to present, like Dodge Vipers and Corvettes. In September, another show is even larger with about 230 cars, dating from 1965 and earlier, including restored hot rods. You’ll find all the rides parked on Broadway Street.

Soccer in the Sand June 16-17
Beach Volleyball Tournament August 9-12
In June, soccer players from around the area will converge on Seaside’s beach for a small-sided, five-versus-five soccer tournament. Then in August, Seaside hosts the largest amateur beach volleyball tournament in the country, drawing more than 2,700 players and  40,000 total spectators. The beach is divided into more than 150  courts where you can watch teams set, shank and spike.

4th of July Old-Fashioned Social & Fireworks July 4
Really, there’s no better place to celebrate Independence Day than Seaside: an 11 a.m. parade, food, music, throwback cake walks, face painting, silent auction and then at dusk, a big-bang fireworks extravaganza.

Treasure the Beach Cleanup July 5
SOLVE Beach & Riverside Cleanup September 29
You have two opportunities to give back to your host town. On July 5th, head down to the Promenade in the morning to help clean up Seaside’s most treasured resource: the beach. Bags and gloves are happily provided, but you’re encouraged to bring a bucket. Then we do it all again at the end of September. Thanks in advance for your help! Note: Treasure the Beach Cleanup happens the first Saturday of every month, rain or shine.

Versus Comic Con July 21-22
If cosplay and comics are your jam, come find your people at the Seaside Convention Center in July. More than a hundred vendors and artists will be on display, plus live music and celebrity meet-and-greets.

Hood to Coast Relay Finish Line August 25
The Hood to Coast Relay stretches nearly 200 miles from Mt. Hood to the Oregon Coast. Be on hand to cheer the 1,050 teams of runners as they cross the finish line and head straight to the beer garden on the beach.
