Seaside Treasure Quest Celebrates Five Years
with Bigger
than Ever Prize Packages!
Tqv CollageWe've tested your sleuthing skills and your creativity and you have risen to the challenge for the past four years. The arrival of our Seaside Visitor Guide each year marks the official start of the Seaside Treasure Quest. Our Treasure Quest clues help visitors navigate Seaside from some unique perspectives. Questers share with us how much fun they have discovering parts of Seaside they might not have found otherwise. Early on, we received so many creative entries we decided to create a new category: "Most Creative Entry." For this year's Treasure Quest V, we have a Grand Prize specially designed for all you creative types. Our creative entries have come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and presentations. We've received photo collages, creatively drawn maps, handmade boxes, poetry about Seaside, and funny homemade videos. The 2013 winning entry for Most Creative was a video about a magical quest through Seaside where the Questers were shrunken and turned into clay figures. Their only way back to normal was to solve the Treasure Quest clues. (Check it out here.) While you certainly don't need to be a filmmaker in order to win, creativity is king here! Make us laugh, make us cry, make us applaud and gasp out loud! (Just keep it safe and legal, please!) We look forward to seeing all the entries for Treasure Quest V in 2015.

Summertime in Seaside

SeasideOR_DonFrank

Summer in Seaside is one of the busiest times of year for outdoor activities like water sports, biking, hiking and kite-flying. June is marked by the annual Beach Soccer tournament and the thunder of muscle cars at the Seaside Muscle and Chrome car show. The Fourth of July celebration includes a spectacular fireworks show, parade, drum & bugle corps concert, and old-fashioned social. In August, Seaside’s beach is home to two huge sporting events: the annual Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament, the world's largest amateur volleyball tournament, and the Hood to Coast Relay, the longest and largest relay race in the world. Mid to late summer, pelicans begin moving north along the coast and can be seen diving into the ocean for a bite. The city’s landscaping will be of interest to garden lovers. Pocket gardens showcase more than 2000 varieties of trees, shrubs, bulbs, perennials and annuals.
