Acclaimed novelist and former senior meteorologist at the Weather Channel Buzz Bernard will join author Bonnie Henderson in a conversation about earthquakes, tsunamis and the Cascadia Fault. Bernard has written a novel, Cascadia, which imagines an earthquake and tsunami in a fictionalized Manzanita, Oregon. Henderson’ s book, The Next Tsunami: Life on a Restless Coast, discusses what we know about plate tectonics and earthquakes in the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Both have done extensive research and we can learn much from both – the historic and the imagined.
