A month-long series of classes about sustainable food production on a small scale. Topics covered include BioIntensive food production, water catchment systems, wind and solar energy production, and storing seed production. Classes are taught by Larkin Stentz, a sustainable agriculture educator who has taught along the west coast of North America from Washington to Mexico. Winter CPR and First Aid class

Class will be held in Towler building, room 310. Participants will develop the skills to provide First Aid in emergency situations and care for life-threatening emergencies such as respiratory or cardiac problems, sudden illness or injury. Instruction on using an AED (Automated External Defibrillators) is included. Students will receive the American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED two-year certificate. Beached Birds Training Session

Join the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST) and help make a difference in the environment. The organization will be holding training sessions for their Beached Birds Program in Astoria on June 11, 2016. COASST volunteers collect data on beach-cast carcasses of marine birds on a monthly basis to establish the baseline pattern of bird mortality on North Pacific Beaches.
