Smithsonian Museum Day Live! at Cannon Beach History Center

CannonBeachHistoryCenter(cbhistory.org)The Cannon Beach History Center & Museum will open its doors free of charge on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 11:00am to 5:00pm, as part of the Smithsonian Magazine’s annual Museum Day Live! A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at a participating museum or cultural institution. New for March 2016 is a special edition of Museum Day Live! during Women’s History Month, providing an opportunity to the public, especially women and girls, throughout the U.S. to enjoy and share in our nation’s dynamic heritage and cultural life.

The Cannon Beach History Center & Museum is located in the mid-town area of Cannon Beach. They are currently showcasing two exhibits: “World War II on the Oregon Coast” and a textile exhibit titled “Japanese Americans in Internment Camps.” Permanent exhibits feature a Native American Longhouse replica, history of Cannon Beach, and Oregon logging. If you’ve never been, this is a great excuse to visit.
