As part of ongoing efforts to establish a bike trail network on the North Coast, the North Coast Trail Alliance (NCTA) is taking steps toward that goal with a cleanup project at the site of a future trail near Astoria. The main area in consideration has been used for many years as a dumping ground for unwanted items, and NCTA members and volunteers will clean up as much of the site as possible. A large trash dumpster will be provided to collect the debris. The group will meet at 9:30am in the Astoria High school parking lot and shuttle to the work area. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair (or two) of protective gloves and be prepared for mud.
