History and Hops will feature Annika Kay, director of the Appelo Archives Center in Naselle, WA. Annika will be sharing historical photographs and stories from long ago locals from the old towns of Altoona, Pillar Rock, Deep River, Cottardi Station, and Knappton. These are some of the little river towns, hamlets, and communities that occupied shoreline on the north bank of the Columbia River along Wahkiakum county’s front porch.
The Appelo Archives Museum & Cafe is dedicated to encouraging the study of region-wide history by preserving collections, sponsoring community and educational activities, facilitating genealogical research, and fostering Scandinavian studies.
This event is free to the public and anyone can attend. There will also be a 50/50 raffle for a cash prize. Must be present to win. Tickets will be sold on site for $1.00 each.
History & Hops is a series of local history discussions hosted by the Seaside Museum on the last Thursday of each month, September through May, at Seaside Brewing Co.
The Seaside History Museum is located at 570 Necanicum Drive and is open Wednesday – Saturday, 11 AM – 4 PM.
