Have the greenest-ever Christmas with a tree from Boneyard Ridge. Buy a Christmas tree from North Coast Land Conservancy in a special one-day sale Dec. 4, and contribute—in multiple ways—to restoration of two habitat reserves on Tillamook Head.

NCLC is thinning a stand of young fir trees high on Boneyard Ridge Habitat Reserve to create a healthy future forest, and the trees happen to be the perfect size and shape for Christmas trees. Donations for the trees will support the conservancy’s work, and after the holidays the discarded trees will be used to help enhance habitat on the same two properties.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, choose a tree at NCLC’s Circle Creek Conservation Center in Seaside. NCLC is asking for a donation of $100 for each tree, regardless of size. When the holidays are over, return the Boneyard Ridge tree to Circle Creek Conservation Center. It will be placed in a waterway on Boneyard Ridge or adjacent Circle Creek Habitat Reserve, where it will provide refuge for juvenile coho salmon and contribute to the food chain serving coho and other wildlife.

Sales start at 11:00am and end at 3:00pm or when trees run out. Come early for best selection. Circle Creek Conservation Center is at the end of Rippet Road in Seaside; look for Rippet Road on the west side of US 101, 0.7 mile north of the junction with Hwy 26. Follow the road west and north a short distance, passing a gravel quarry on your left, to where it ends at the big barn.
