Circle Creek Habitat Reserve Nature Walk

002_VRussell Imagery - Photo Sep 30 2 03 37 PM_V.Russell.jpgJoin North Coast Land Conservancy (NCLC) Executive Director Katie Voelke and naturalist Mike Patterson for an exploration of a floodplain forest in all its many stages: newly planted, dead and decaying, and everything in between! Circle Creek is one of NCLC’s largest habitat reserves and one of the most dynamic. Since this property became conserved in 2003, we have planted more than 40,000 native trees and shrubs in order to allow wildlife to thrive across the entire property, forever.

The hike will be between 2.5 and 3 miles. The walk will be on mowed grass path, dirt or gravel trail, and wooden boardwalk and will include crossing narrow footbridges over creeks. Expect some elevation gain. No toilets on site. No dogs allowed on site. Bring water and snacks. Binoculars are always a good idea for spotting birds and wildlife, and please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the day’s weather.
