While some things in Seaside always stay the same — like brilliantly colored sunsets over the Pacific and the soothing sounds of waves hitting the shore — this fun coastal town is always changing. You’ll find even more ways to play, explore and make the most of your Coast getaway. Here are the latest new arrivals to check out.

For visitors who need an accessible hotel, wheelchair access to a restaurant or attraction, or many other kinds of assistance, Seaside is now one of the Oregon Coast’s prestigious Destination Verified locations through Wheel the World’s international program. Wheel the World details guaranteed accessibility features for a worry-free stay, including measurements for doors and items like wheel-in showers and grab bars. Participating Seaside hotels include Best Western Plus Ocean View Resort, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, Inn at the Shore, Kathryn Riverfront Inn, Motel 6, River Inn at Seaside, SaltLine Hotel and Seashore Inn on the Beach. Check out the program’s resource guide for more details about Seaside’s accessible accommodations and activities.
Seaside’s beach is also now more accessible to everyone, thanks to the new arrival of a second David’s Chair track chair. Visitors can rent one of the all-terrain electric chairs for up to two hours for free and explore all kinds of landscapes, including uneven or wet sand.
Want to give back to Seaside’s beaches, forests and wildlife during your stay? The Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program, a new initiative of the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, makes it easy. Book at either the Ashore Hotel or SaltLine Hotel in Seaside — both partners with the program — and they will donate a portion of your stay to local nonprofits focused on wildlife protection and kids’ programming.

Looking for a rib-sticking meal after a day of adventuring? Gray’s Comfort Q serves up authentic Texas-style barbecue on the south side of town. Every rib, brisket and pulled-pork sandwich is smoked low and slow on a traditional wood smoker by pitmaster Sean Gray, and sides like collard greens and cornbread are equally hearty. You can also grab unique coffee drinks here: Jump-start your day with the Green Eye Baby, a cup of drip coffee with a triple-shot of espresso.
Seaside’s culinary scene is exploding, and several new restaurants are all the buzz. Keep your eyes peeled for Phởholic & Cafe, now open along Highway 101, for authentic bánh mì sandwiches and Vietnamese phở that hits the spot on a crisp fall day.Â
If you’re stocking up a picnic or dining at your vacation rental, the new grab-’n-go Prep Kitchen, just north of Seaside on Highway 101, has the perfect supplies for an easy meal. There’s something to satisfy your entire crew, from chicken-cheesesteak sandwiches and sesame-ginger noodles to spaghetti dinners. They’re also open for breakfast — the Southwest breakfast burrito with fire-roasted green chilis is a tasty to-go choice for an early-morning surf outing.
Wine and beer lovers can take their pick from over 500 hard-to-find wines and small-batch beers at The Wine and Beer Haus, which has a new owner. Located at the Seaside Outlets, this inviting space with 14 taps and plush couches now offers fresh sushi from Tora Sushi Lounge once a week, plus piping hot chowder bowls, chili and grab-and-go eats from Prep Kitchen daily.
