Oregon State Parks will host the annual Winter Whale Watch Week along the Oregon Coast from Saturday, Dec. 27, through Wednesday, Dec. 31. Trained Oregon State Park volunteers will be stationed at 14 sites along the Oregon Coast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help visitors spot gray whales on their southward migration to the calving lagoons in Mexico.
North Coast locations include Fort Stevens State Park, near the Peter Iredale Shipwreck; the Neahkahnie Mountain Overlook; and the Cape Meares Lighthouse.
