History and Hops
After a 2 1/2 year hiatus, History and Hops is returning. The Seaside Museum and Historical Society will present local resident Nancy Anderson at 6 p.m. on September 29th at Seaside Brewing Co., 851 Broadway St. Anderson will tell the story of her great aunt Belle Cooper Rinehart Ferguson, who traveled the Oregon Trail as a child and later became one of the state’s first female doctors. Anderson’s presentation will be based on Belle’s writings. Anderson is the founder and director of the Knappton Cove Heritage Center. She is an author, craft designer and retired elementary school teacher. Anderson’s daughter, Heather Bell Henry, will join in the presentation.
History & Hops is a series of local history discussions hosted by the Seaside Museum on the last Thursday of each month, September through May, at Seaside Brewing Co. This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
