Featuring art by Karl Hauer, an artist born and raised in Astoria, Oregon, who was introduced to watercolor painting by an artist named Joe Bush in 2012. Hauer writes, “I have been keeping the paintbrush moving and the pigment flowing ever since. I mostly paint what intrigues me at the time, and I learn a great deal along the way. I use the more intimate understanding of the subject to allow the painting to develop.”

A Hall of Fame member and Seaside High graduate, he attended West Point. “Being recognized as Soldier of the Month highlighted my dedication and contributions to my unit and the community.
