The Lyons Den in Seaside this Saturday has an evening of live jazz and swing music from Portland, OR duo, Charlene & Her Champagne Bruts! Featuring the sultry vocals of Charlene Hansen and low-end stylings of upright bassist Marty Main, this talented duo offers a fresh take on jazz – blending vintage jazz, swing and blues classics in an inspiring set marked by showmanship and improvisation. Charlene’s powerful voice echos the artistic bravado of Peggy Lee and soulfulness of Billie Holiday in a sound that is uniquely her own. Marty has played on eleven albums of various genres of music, including one with jazz legend Wally Rose. He has played at the Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, as well as numerous clubs and festivals up and down the West Coast.
