Where do you go with a desire to make a high-quality, New York-type delicatessen AND a desire to live on the North Coast? Seaside, of course.
Enter Tsunami Sandwich Company, a company set apart in its ability to make the “delish” part of “delicious” stand out. After becoming a victim of the recession’s lay-offs, David Posalski and his family moved here and decided it was the opportunity of a lifetime for them. They could finally live on the coast which they loved, and provide an eatery that would receive rave reviews from both new and repeat customers.
With hard work and special attention to details (all meat and cheeses are Thumann’s brand and shipped from New York), the effort has paid off. There has been a lot of repeat business. They have customers from Sandy who drive in regularly to purchase their chili. And very common reactions overheard when customers taste a sandwich are, “This is the best sandwich I’ve ever had” and “I haven’t had a pastrami like this since I was in New York.”
David, who has a sales and marketing background, has dreamed of having an eatery for ten years. “I love good food and it has always been a hobby.” He says. Undaunted by the challenges (because there is no venting up through the Worldmark resort on the upper floors, some cooking is limited), he and his wife (Britnie) and son (Berkely, age 12) put their hearts into the Tsunami Sandwich Company-and the results show. “Our customers really do love us.” David says, “and we are having a great time.”
Tsunami also sells meat and cheese by the pound for those customers who want to go home and make more sandwiches. You can follow them on Twitter and also like them on Facebook. For more information, please see their website.
