Seaside’s First Saturday Art Walk

Seaside’s First Saturday Art Walk is celebrating 13 years. It will be held on June 3rd from 5pm – 7pm. Visitors meet artists, sip wine or snag appetizers, view artist demonstrations and enjoy live music. The event is free and is open to the public. The Art Walk is all about seeing art in the galleries and boutiques located between Holladay and Broadway in the historic Gilbert District of downtown Seaside.

Moxie, Shine On! 609 Broadway

Moxie features exclusive jewelry and art where everything is handmade. As a member of the Fair Trade Federation, Moxie demonstrates a genial and equitable approach to conducting business.

SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway

Whimsical “quilted painter” Ronni Harris is the June featured artist.  Her show, titled “I see Seaside”, is inspired by her delivering Meals on Wheels through the eyes of an artist.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway

Opening reception for ICONIC, an exhibition. Definition of iconic relating to, or having the characteristics of an icon; widely recognized and well established •an iconic brand name; known and acknowledged especially for distinctive excellence •an iconic image •an iconic vacation. Featuring important quotes crafted by calligraphy artist Penelope Culbertson, oil painter Melissa Jander, exemplary wood sculptures by Mike Brown and introducing Gearhart photographer Dale Veith. Naturalist Neal Maine will speak at 6pm about the ecology of the local habitat, LIVE music by Shirley 88, lite bites and adult beverages.

Beach Puppy Boutique, 614 Broadway

Featuring pet portrait artist Lisa Cunningham who has an “incredible gift for portraying the heart of every pet by bringing his or her unique expressions to life through watercolor.”

Beach Books, 616 Broadway

Featuring selected Oregon photographers in the Loft Gallery.  Price Luber’s dynamic black and white images, value studies contrasts with Mark McDowall’s brilliant and colorful landscapes, in a show that presents a wide variety of image from the natural beauty of the world.

T. Anjuli’s Gallery, 5 N. Holladay Drive

Featuring paintings by artist Bill Lutz that reflect the sanctity of the earth, nature, life, and political forces that seek to destroy it, as well as floral works by gallery owner Lisa Scigliano.

Seaside Coffee House, 3 N. Holladay Drive

Featuring Marcus Lundell, an artist who utilizes a reverse painting technique on glass, creating unique images. His window views include comedic characters. His witty perspective brings a modern, urbane touch to his folk art medium. Incidentally, all of the funds from sales are donated to charitable organizations in the Oregon Coast.
