The Seaside First Saturday Art Walk is all about the arts. Visitors wander, meet artists, sip wine or sample appetizers by favorite restaurants or personal chefs. They can view artist demonstrations, listen to an artist talk or enjoy live performances in music. The art walk is held on the first Saturday of every month, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at businesses, shops, boutiques and dining establishments located between Holladay Drive and Broadway in the historic Gilbert District of downtown Seaside with courtesy parking available on the corner of Holladay and Oceanway.
Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway, in the Gilbert Block Building. Opening reception for HELLO…BEAVER TALES displaying new work by resident artists Paul Brent, Mike Brown, Susan Curington, Denise Joy McFadden, Agnes Field, Mike Brown, Jo Pomeroy Crockett, PhD., and Neal Maine, as well as selected NW artists.
BEAVER TALES Pop-Up Gallery, 608 Broadway, in the Gilbert Block Building. Devoted exclusively to beaver-themed art, courtesy of Avery Loschen and Will Perkins, BEAVER TALES Pop-Up Gallery will offer art, lectures and receptions with the selected artists.
Moxie, Shine On! 609 Broadway, in the Kirwin Building. Introducing artist Kathleen Dudley. For Beaver Tales the artist has used locally found beaver chewed sticks and branches to create one-of-a-kind musical instruments, each with a hand carved beaver face.
Beach Books, 616 Broadway, in the Gilbert Block Building. “Emergence” exhibition features upcoming Oregon photographers, Price Luber and Mark McDowall. Also, author Frances Backhouse will be reading from Once They Were Hats: In Search of the Mighty Beaver.
SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway, in the Gilbert BLock Building. Raku pottery by Debbie Thornock and Scott Gray, ceramic koi by Maui artist Mark Mackay and handcrafted accent tables by Steve & Jan Mathews of Sisters. Returning to SunRose, Anna Meyrick, and as always Seaside favorite Patty Thurlby will be in person to discuss her whimsical upcycle art.
T.anjuli Gallery, 7 North Holladay Drive, in the Wheatley/ Desler Building. Artist Billy Lutz is the gallery owner/ resident artist/ Seaside philosopher, whose body of work gathered spans a career of 30 years of mature thematic painting.
